UPS International F&A Senior Supervisor in Atlanta, Georgia

The Forecasting Senior Supervisor is responsible for managing the weekly forecasting close process and distributing forecast related material to the top level executives. He/She will manage both the weekly and monthly financial reporting and prepare reports to support both internal and external business unit decisions. The Forecasting Senior Supervisor is responsible for forecasting revenue, expense, and profitability for the international business unit along with a regional breakout. This position will supervise others within the department.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Generates, analyzes and prepares weekly forecasting reports

  • Generates, audits, manages, and summarizes financial reports to communicate forecast to senior management

  • Reviews weekly forecast submission to identify variances between the annual business plan and weekly forecast

  • Supervises the monthly financial close process

  • Conducts financial analysis to ensure accurate evaluation of the forecast (revenue, expense, and profitability)

  • Analyzes and completes ad hoc reporting requests to meet internal and external customer needs

  • Creates custom reports to produce requested financial data (e.g., prior month/year actual results, quarterly outlook results, etc.) for senior management

  • Designs, develops and/or maintains/automates current process to improve forecasting accuracy

  • Works closely with region F&A teams to gain business insights to generate an accurate forecast

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrates a general understanding of technology used by the company; communicates basic technological concepts and terminology; applies standard technology in daily work

  • Addresses and resolves issues impacting weekly reporting process; looks for ways to minimize report generation and required storage; modifies existing report formats; creates and interprets customized reports; integrates data, information, and documents from multiple software programs

  • Accurately reads and interprets financial reports and statements; demonstrates an understanding of relevant financial measures, revenue and cost drivers; applies financial analysis to recommend solutions that support business objectives

  • Distinguishes between “big picture” concepts and comments and specialized, smaller specific facts associated with work; notes the specifics of events and experiences; explains, in general, how details impact end goals or outcomes; ensures that work is completed accurately and with the appropriate level of detail

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated to learn new concepts and improve current processes

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment

  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - Preferred

  • SQL knowledge - Preferred
